- Who is responsible
- Júlio Machado, a software engineer based in Portugal, is responsible for this data. For any request about it, write to juliomachadome@gmail.com.
- What is kept when you visit
- A pseudonymous identifier (a hash of your IP and browser with a secret that changes every day), the page, the language, the country and approximate city, the site you came from, the browser type and the window size. The IP address is kept for 14 days, only to look into abuse, and then deleted automatically. I use these statistics, always aggregated and without identifying anyone, to understand what works on the page and to improve the site and how I promote my work.
- What is kept when you write
- Your name, email or WhatsApp, the message and whatever you choose to add: topic, project size, a reference link and another contact. Also the country and approximate city, the language, the browser and the page you wrote from, to reply and prevent abuse. If you leave an email, you get a confirmation. If you tick the box for news, I also keep the date and time of that consent.
- How I use this data
- To reply and talk about your project, and for security and abuse prevention. I also run internal, aggregated analyses of visits and contacts (for example, which services are asked for most, project sizes and countries) to improve the site, the services and how I promote my work. These analyses identify no one and are never used for automated decisions about you.
- News, only with your consent
- I only send news if you tick the box in the form. They come now and then, through the contact you left, and each one has a simple way to opt out. You can also opt out any time at the email above. Without the box ticked, I use your contact only to reply to your message.
- CV requests
- If you ask for my CV, I keep your name, company, email, language, approximate country and how many times the link was opened. I use this only to send the PDF by email (which also confirms the address and keeps bots out) and to know who asked. Legal basis: your request and legitimate interest. It is kept for 24 months and never added to any news list.
- Sending limits
- To prevent spam, I keep a one-way version (hash) of your email or number and how many messages you have sent. It is deleted 24 months after your last message.
- Who handles the data with me
- Vercel (hosting and cookie-free statistics), Resend (sending email), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot check) and Supabase (database, in the European Union). Some of these providers may process data outside the EU, in the United States. In that case the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Legal basis
- Replying to your message: steps taken at your request and legitimate interest. Security and abuse prevention (IP for 14 days, bot check, sending limits): legitimate interest. Visit statistics, pseudonymised and aggregated, including to improve the site and how I promote my work: legitimate interest. Internal, aggregated analysis of contacts: legitimate interest. News: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- How long
- The IP is gone after 14 days. The visit record, with no IP and no name, is kept for statistics. Messages are kept for up to 24 months after the last contact or, if we work together, for the length of the work and as long as the law requires. Consent for news lasts until you opt out. Sending limits last 24 months after the last message.
- Cookies
- The site uses no tracking cookies. It only uses the cookie that remembers your chosen language (1 year), a 1-minute technical cookie to get the language right and, for the site owner only, the admin cookies: the session (7 days) and the one that recognises the owner's device (1 year).
- Your rights
- You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability of your data, object to the internal analyses and withdraw your consent for news, at the email above. I reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the CNPD in Portugal or the ANPD in Brazil.
